Privacy Policy

Pinchy is made by Index Labs LLC ("we"). This policy explains what data Pinchy collects, how it's used, and who processes it.
What we collect
- Account data (hosts only): email address, a display name, an optional phone number and profile photo. Claimers never need accounts.
- Receipt data: the items, prices, names people enter, and claims made on shared receipts.
- Receipt photos: processed to extract items, then discarded — photos are never stored on our servers.
AI processing of receipt photos
When you scan a receipt, the photo is sent to OpenAI, which acts solely as a data processor to read the items, prices, and totals. We ask for your permission in the app before the first scan. OpenAI does not train on this data or use it for advertising. Photos are not retained after processing.
Service providers
- OpenAI — reads receipt photos (as described above)
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions (we never see your card number)
- Google Cloud — application hosting
What we don't do
We never sell personal data, share it for advertising, or use it for profiling. Phone numbers are never shown to other members of a receipt.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time in Profile → Delete account. This removes your profile, sign-in identity, and personal records; receipts you shared remain visible to their other participants, anonymized.
